The Bulgarian Lion

Nikola Tsolov — the Bulgarian Lion — was born in Sofia on 21 December 2006. At nineteen, he is the most successful single-seater driver Bulgaria has ever produced: the first Bulgarian to win a Formula 2 race, an all-time record holder in FIA Formula 3, and the leader of the 2026 F2 championship in his rookie season.

It started on the outskirts of Sofia, when his parents signed a small boy up for a driving course. What followed has been a straight line pointed at Formula 1.
